Mid-Missouri is in constant high demand for dog rescues, we are almost always operating at maximum capacity as we are limited by Foster availability.
Please note: We will prioritize requests based on the following criteria, but in each criteria, we can only intake what our fosters can handle. If you would like to help, try fostering today!
- Shelter Puppies and Dogs– dogs that are in imminent danger of being killed in their current shelter location, high risk, or abandoned animals. We will always prioritize our own rural community shelters and animal control agencies from Boonville, Fayette, Moberly, & Mexico.
- Owner surrender dogs who are able to “foster” in their own homes. Those who are Heartworm tested with a negative result, up-to-date on current vaccines (Parvo / Distemper, Rabies) and spayed or neutered are given the highest priority for owner surrenders.
- Owner Surrender – Foster needed with vetting required is given last priority and can only be considered if space is currently available.
For the safety of our Foster homes, we can NOT consider any Surrenders with Human Aggression or Dog Aggression
We require honest and transparent communication from the surrendering party. Falsified or misleading information places our Fosters, Volunteers, and current dogs at risk – something we do not take lightly – and can result in the automatic dismissal of your surrender inquiry at any point in the process.
If the dog you are attempting to surrender is an alumni of MO Wiggle Butts dog rescue, please reach out to adoption@mowigglebutts.org with their MO Wiggle Butts name and an approximate adoption date (even just summer 2020 helps!), and we will get back to you as quickly as we can. When space is low, these forms will be denied, but past MWB dogs will always be accepted back into our organization!
